Based on a central carrier element, WAFIOS presents the completely new universal compression spring coiling machine FUL 56. Compared to predecessor models, the modular machine structure features an expanded diameter range and a more versatile range of applications.

The WAFIOS FUL series has been successfully established on the market for decades. Many spring makers regard it as standard among universal spring coilers. The new FUL 56 is not only WAFIOS’ response to increased technology demands, its modern design also meets highest requirements when it comes to ergonomics, user friendliness and workplace safety. The arrangement of tools, for example, increases the operating convenience during tool changes.

Due to the modular machine structure and the expanded diameter range, the machine’s flexibility – which is increasingly mentioned as an important purchase criterion – is improved. Wire diameters between 1.5 and 5.5 mm can be processed.

User friendliness was also the main focus in the development of the new WAFIOS Programming System WPS 3.2 EasyWay. A clear user interface and simple user guidance ensures safe and easy operation also for beginners. Operators who are already experienced in WPS programming will have no problem at all with the new system. The highly precise feed unit that has been integrated into the machine has four pairs of rollers. It is the first step towards high-quality springs, even before the wire is actually processed. Besides greater precision, higher output is the result. The four pairs of feed rollers make sure that the contact pressure is distributed evenly and that there is less strain on the wire.

The cutting mandrel of the FUL 56 is adjustable in its height and can be upgraded by a programmable mandrel displacement. Additionally, highest outputs are reached by means of a programmable pitch which can be positioned parallel or vertical to the spring axis. Other – already established – module components, like the multi-cut system or the PTP coiling finger can be added to the FUL 56 on request. By means of an individually programmable control, the PTP coiling finger enables an individual adjustment of the initial tension in springs during the spring production cycle. To shorten tooling times and to save work positions, WAFIOS offers the PTP coiling finger for the upper as well as for the lower slide. The multi-cut system enables the selection of different cutting techniques depending on the requested production result and output. Straight / rotary / torsion or flying cut can be selected.

As the FUL 56 is based on a modular machine structure, they can be customized according to the customer’s application area. High precision is reached due to established and new components and an expanded diameter range of the standard as well as the universal machine.
